State Fair, September 2009

Robert petting a goat at the petting zoo. While I was taking this picture, a deer was eating the back of my coat and scared the crap out of me.

Robert petting an alligator at the reptile exhibit.

Robert posing next to the GIANT watermelon!

More watermelon fun... (we also got watermelon tattoos)

Robert on his first fair ride. He cracks me up because he is so serious about driving that truck!!

Gary waiting in line to buy us all Dairy Wives ice cream. It's my favorite part of the fair!

While Dad was waiting for ice cream, Stephen slept. Poor little guy didn't even wake up to eat any!

Robert and his ice cream cone!!

Visiting the horsies before heading for home.

Jeep Ride!

Robert took his baby brother for a spin around the front yard in his jeep. Stephen talked to the truckers on the CB while Robert navigated obstacles in the yard. Such cute boys!!

Say "CHEESE"!!

Huckleberry pancakes!

The huckleberries were ripe at Trillium Lake, so we picked some and brought them home to make huckleberry pancakes for dinner. Robert ate THREE. And I'm pretty sure he could have eaten one more.... Even Stephen had one. Most of it ended up in his mouth, anyway. Only a few bits of pancake ended up in his hair.

Trillium Lake, August 2009

Am I really this far behind in my blogging? This was our last camping trip of the summer, to Trillium Lake on Mt. Hood. We all had colds and it was cold and rainy the first two days. But of course, on the last day we all felt better and the sun came out. We didn't catch any fish, but fishing was very difficult with boys in the boat. And for some reason, they weren't biting on Robert's play magnet fishing pole.

Beach Weekend with Friends!

Last weekend, we went camping with some good friends! We had fun catching up on life and reminiscing about the "good ol' days". We really missed having Crissy there, though. It was extremely windy, so we didn't spend as much time on the beach as we wanted to. But the boys and the dogs and everyone all had a good time!

Robert skates!

Here's Robert trying out his new skakes he got for his birthday! (Thanks, Auntie Kathy) He loves them, and so far no accidents.

Devil Horns in the bath!

Stephen's finally got enough hair for me to make devil horns!!

But, Robert didn't like them so he flattened them out.
Then, he decided to make his own horns. But these look a lot more like longhorns. :)

Stephen's First Green Beans!

This is Stephen's first bite of non-cereal "real" food... green beans. He loved them. We've now moved on to squash and he loves that too! Next up is carrots!

Boating!

We spent a weekend in Central Oregon and went for a boat ride on South Twin Lake. It was Stephen's first! It was a beautiful day, but I don't think I'll be enjoying fishing for a few more years. I spent all my time helping Robert and taking care of Stephen. "Get me my juice box, mom" thirty seconds later, "get me my crackers, mom" etc. etc. Fun stuff.

Silver Falls Camping Trip

Wow, three blog posts in one day! I'm on a roll....

This last weekend we went camping at Silver Falls. I've been there many times, but have never camped there. It was fun to spend the weekend. Camping with two little boys and two dogs is a challenge, but worth it in the end! We went hiking the first day, but couldn't hike down below the falls like we wanted to because there were no dogs allowed on the trail. :( There's always next time. Yesterday morning, we rode our bikes along a supposedly "easy" four-mile bike path. Woooo! Gary and I got a workout! Gary had both boys in the bike trailer (at least 50 pounds!) and I am just out of practice on a bike. But we did it and survived and earned a trip to Burgerville on the way home.

Gary cooking dinner in the dutch oven!

Yes, Stephen is on my back somewhere!
I think this is Robert's last summer in the backpack!

Memorial Day Camping

We went to the Ochocos in Central Oregon for our annual Memorial Day camping trip with friends. Robert LOVED camping and playing with all the other kiddos. He got dirty, rode on quads, roasted marshmallows, learned how to open peanuts, ate the "good" food at the Voss camp (thanks, Andrea!). Stephen did very well camping, too. It took him a while to get used to his new bed in the trailer, but after the first night, he did just fine.

Robert being a ham.

Stephen eating the Cheetos bag!

Robert wanted me to take a picture of his Cheeto hands.
Till Boys.
Mommy giving Robert a ride on the quad.
Morning snuggle time with my boys.
Stephen trying to sneak a drink of Greg's yucca!

Boys in the pool!

Stephen's first "pool time". I think he liked it! Not sure about his face in the first picture, though.

Some Random Till Family Pics

Gary's about to blow out a forest fire. Oh, wait. That's his birthday cake.
Robert's first stick person drawing. I was so proud! He showed me where the legs were, and then I understood. :)

Little Stephen, just being cute hanging out in his Bumbo seat.

Robert had to go get his booster seat, too. So he could be just like his brother and play with toys. Such freaking cuties!

Future Mr. Bow Hunter. Watch out, kid.
You'll shoot your eye out!
